The Docket: What the Court Is Actually Asked to Try
The Special Court has not been deciding the same kind of corruption cases over the years. Filings peaked in FY2076/77, while decisions peaked about four years later. More importantly, the docket itself changed: fake-credential cases once dominated, but bribery, loss to the government and other financial offences later became more prominent. That changing mix matters when we interpret the Court’s conviction rates.

From Prosecution to Conviction: What Happens When a CIAA Case Reaches Court?
A CIAA case is an allegation, not a conviction. Nepal’s Constitution gives the CIAA the power to investigate and prosecute corruption, but the final decision belongs to the court. Court records therefore provide an important independent picture of what happens when those allegations are tested through evidence and due process.
